Tecore Networks served as Diamond Sponsor of the Alabama Department of Corrections Executive Leadership Conference, held September 2–4 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The conference brought together approximately 120 ADOC executives and senior leaders for three days of briefings, training and discussion, opening with remarks from Commissioner Greg Lovelace.
Jeremy Bailey, Director of MAS-E, presented “Network Solutions” on Wednesday afternoon, addressing the communications infrastructure question underneath much of what a correctional system depends on: how a facility network is designed, who and what is permitted on it, and how unauthorized cellular activity is identified and controlled without disrupting the communications staff rely on.
That evening, Tecore hosted the conference’s Social Networking reception on the Dunes Terrace, and the company exhibited during Vendor Day on Thursday.
The program reflected the range of issues facing correctional leadership. Alongside ADOC’s own facility and program updates, the agenda included a legal update, a briefing from the Alabama Sentencing Commission, a session on institutional culture change from St. Clair, and a closing address on accountability in leadership. Texas Department of Criminal Justice Executive Director Bobby Lumpkin spoke on his path from correctional officer to director, and Deputy Director Eric Guerrero delivered an escape brief — a reminder that the operational challenges in this field cross state lines, and that the people solving them learn most from each other.
