Enhance Business Operations with Specialized Network Infrastructure

Overview

With greater speed, lower latency, and the ability to connect numerous devices, sensors, and applications, 5G will have a dramatic impact on the industrial industry. Today, numerous vertical markets are leveraging the opportunity to deploy their own network – enhancing business operations and functionality while reducing costs. A key component to achieving these operational gains is the ability to access real-time data and analytics as part of a fully integrated view of operations. Tecore’s customized multi-technology cellular infrastructure provides local control and customization through a common platform, allowing private entities to capitalize on future opportunities.

Mobility Virtualized Platform

LTE MicroCore

Tecore’s LTE MicroCore has been designed to provide a complete 4G LTE core network in a small compact footprint to meet the requirements of multiple market segments including mobile rapid deployment applications. The LTE core network platform leverages Tecore’s Mobility Virtualized Platform (MVP) product portfolio architecture and scales to meet customers’ requirements within multiple market segments. The MVP provides a highly reliable platform with the consolidation of resources across multiple virtual CPUs into a common pool, partitioning resources into virtual machines (VMs) to provide the CPU, memory, and storage required in an encapsulated VM environment.

Bring Your Own Network (BYON)

With the deployment of 5G and the opportunities it brings for a connected world, private operators can easily enhance standard operational efficiencies through connected automation and augmented applications to evolve their business. When implementing a private network, enterprises have complete control over the device and its outside network interaction.

The Bring Your Own NetworkTM (BYON) platform, provided by Tecore’s products and solutions, allows for complete control of network access. The challenge is how to secure data in this scenario. Tecore implements standard features to address non-cellular equipped solutions like tablets, laptops, wearable devices, equipment, and logistical systems. While some industries have already implemented wireless technologies, these have typically been based on the availability of the commercial network. However, to operate devices without the traditional concerns associated with commercial networks, device management is handled through Tecore’s patented iCore platform. The iCore is a baseline in all Tecore products and ensures user capabilities are granted without compromise to the private network.

iCore Network Technology

Internet of Things

The implication of Internet of Things (IoT) is a major development with many possibilities, potential advantages, and side effects. As the products and services offered by IoT become increasingly used and incorporated into daily lives, the result will be a ubiquitous world requiring a well-coordinated, scalable network infrastructure. Due to new opportunities to obtain spectrum – whether unlicensed spectrum or locally licensed for a facility or location – the exponential growth in 4G LTE and 5G has driven network technology to commodity levels, thus within reach of the local enterprise.

As IoT expands, so will the network capacity and technology requirements. The primary side-effect is related to infrastructure being developed in a fragmented, patchwork manner – resulting in connectivity losses or interoperability issues. Tecore’s iCore can mitigate this risk by enabling the deployment of a Core Network which is provisioned to encompass past, present, and future technology.

Optimized operational functionality on a common communications platform comes with security challenges when integrating multiple technologies and applications that house sensitive data. Though the implication of IoT applications on vehicles, equipment and infrastructure improve flexibility, coordination, cuts costs and creates a safer environment, those IoT applications also open public-private networks to security vulnerabilities, if not properly managed and designed.  As a trusted U.S. supplier of network infrastructure, Tecore understands the risks associated with data security and supports constant developments and enhancements across industries and public-private collaborations.

Tecore’s Offering

Natural Resources

The constant push for productivity and safety improvements has driven the development and adoption of more advanced automation, remote monitoring, and control systems. The implementation of these systems – and successful management of the operation as a whole is dependent on quality communications in targeted areas. Many aspects of these deployments may require specialized network infrastructure due to the nature of the environment. Tecore’s innovative solutions offer network designs to fit every environment imaginable by deploying customized fixed and/or portable implementations.

By using Tecore’s scalable cellular network architecture to deliver broadband access to remote sites, organizations have increased their functionality and revenue opportunities by easily increasing the number of sensors in their operations and the frequency of data being recorded. The introduction of 5G and the incorporation of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) now requires a reliable, secure, high-bandwidth communication backbone which provides streamlined integration.

With advances in sensing technologies, as well as real-time video and enhanced applications, organizations can gather data to assess situations on the ground from the security of a control center. This instant connection improves production and safety using connected devices in a variety of markets such as oil and gas, mining, wind, maritime, and specialized mobile networks.

Research and Development

Tecore systems can create the environment required by Research and Development (R&D) efforts for testing and validation of wireless capabilities.  By leveraging the proven performance of the iCore® platform in a private network environment, R&D efforts can be performed in a controlled environment.

One of the biggest challenges facing R&D facilities is creating a proper environment for testing new applications and capabilities. With the iCore system, users have the flexibility to create a variety of Test Range Simulations to properly evaluate their application. To minimize the complexity of wireless configurations, the iCore solution is delivered on a common platform across applications, and leverages a consistent management interface. This approach simplifies network management and modification by providing a familiar approach for R&D personnel across technology generations.

The Tecore solution delivers industry-compliant interfaces and connectivity integrated with existing infrastructure.  This standardized connectivity allows for the operation of  Tecore solutions in tandem with other systems as part of an overall test environment.  Additionally, for those applications requiring an isolated test environment, the Tecore solution provides complete “island” operations, delivering a comprehensive solution that can operate independently of other infrastructure.

An added benefit of the integrated network infrastructure approach of Tecore’s iCore system is that it minimizes Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).  Rather than multiple systems with separate interfaces, support contracts, and training requirements, the integrated platform of our iCore delivers an all-in-one package.    For development laboratories and test ranges, simplifying the solution provides cost savings that can be measured over the system’s life.
