mRU
Multi-Carrier Radio Access Unit
Overview
Tecore’s mRU (Multi-RAT Radio Unit) radio is a high-powered multiband radio supporting All-Gs (2G/3G/4G/5G) while covering 14 U.S licensed radio frequencies with a single pair of radios. Designed with a multi-carrier framework in mind, the mRU can broadcast the carrier signal independently in each frequency band.
With operators and site owners in commercial, enterprise & government verticals looking to deploy neutral host small cell networks and DAS solutions, Tecore’s mRU provides the most effective radio solution. The added ability to daisy-chain the radios eliminates the needs for long fiber home runs to the headend. The flexible nature of the mRU architecture allows for simplified installations and robust spectrum coverage drastically reducing infrastructure footprint, CAPEX and OPEX.
Utilize Tecore’s FCC certified Low Band and Mid Band mRU’s to expand your in-building solution today.

Applications
sDAS - Smart DAS
Tecore’s sDAS (Smart Radio Distributed Antenna System) is the next evolution of DAS, delivering the same excellent coverage and capacity as a legacy DAS, in a more cost-efficient and compact solution for in-building coverage.
The mRU in an sDAS provides signal distribution, broadcasting the carrier signals from the mDU baseband to the site. Compared to traditional amplifier + antenna distribution systems with no intelligent control over the signal broadcasted, sDAS mRUs offer site owners the ability to independently broadcast custom channel and frequency bandwidths for each carrier, with simplified installations via daisy-chaining.
Neutral Host Small Cells
For operators and enterprise end customers, deploying networks in multi-operator environments can be difficult due to pole space, backhaul, and power options typically associated with small cells. Tecore’s mRU aims to simplify Neutral Host multi-operator deployments with its multi-carrier, multiple Radio Access Technology (mRAT) capability. Instead of needing a small cell for each carrier and band, the mRU uses a single cost-effective radio with carrier aggregation to extend the carrier’s network to the site or venue.
